Apollo Ohm Go Kit Review

Quick Intro

The Apollo Ohm Go is a sub-ohm kit that’s basically ready to go right out of the box.

One of the upsides to kits like this is that they don’t require you to piece your device together from different places, making the process of getting started with sub-ohm vaping a lot simpler.

But is it a good kit? Here’s what we found out.

Pros and Cons

Here are the basic pros and cons that we discovered while researching the Apollo Ohm Go Kit.

  • Made of steel and Pyrex glass
  • It seems very well-constructed
  • The wattage is self-adjusting
  • Produces massive clouds
  • The battery is 1900mAh and packs plenty of power
  • Makes sub ohm vaping easy to get into

  • No variable wattage controls
  • Battery doesn’t pack quite as big a punch as some sub-ohm set-ups do (but this kit is also a fraction of the cost of other kits)
  • There was no mains adapter included in the kit – which isn’t a big deal, but it might have been nice to see that as an addition

What’s in the starter kit?

The starter kit contains the battery, the tank, a spare coil, a user manual, and a USB/Micro USB charging cable. There’s no mains adapter included in the kit itself.

The battery, which we looked at first, was very nice. It’s equipped with pass-through charging, which is always a good thing. It’s rated at 1900mAh, which is pretty good. Aesthetically, it was awesome. It’s rubber coated, doesn’t scratch easily, and has chromed caps on both ends.

The micro USB charging port is actually located on the side of the battery instead of on the bottom, which is a very welcomed sight. This means that you can charge it while standing it up, which will help to cut back on the possibility of having it leak.

The firing button is very nice. It’s contoured with the curve of the device, which makes it feel very natural and easy to use. Turning the battery on is as simple as clicking it five times. Then, you simply hold it down to vape.

LED lights on the battery help to alert you when you need to charge it up, which is super helpful.

The tank that comes with this kit has a 3.0ml capacity, which is pretty good. It’s made from metal with the same rubberized coating as the battery has, and Pyrex glass. The drip tip can be popped out very easily, though it also stays in place and seals well due to two different o-ring seals.

The coil that comes in the tank is a 0.5ohm coil. The actual coil is pretty big and thick, and seems to do the job nicely. Removing it is as easy as unscrewing it from the base. The spare coil that comes with the kit is a 1.0ohm.

These coils are very similar to the coils that come with the Apollo Phazer Tank – which was super-nice.

Filling the tank with E-liquid is pretty simplistic. It’s really not any different from filling any other tank. You just need to make sure to fill it in around the sides, and avoid getting any liquid down in the middle.

The 3.0ml capacity tank makes it possible to fit more than enough E-liquid into it, and the wide tank design makes this process pretty user-friendly.

All in all, the tank is very well-machined. You won’t have any problem screwing or unscrewing the parts.

The battery and the tank actually work together to determine the wattage automatically. When you screw the tank onto the battery, it checks the ohm rating of the coil and sets the wattage to the appropriate levels. The good thing about this is that it will make using the device incredibly simple. The bad news is that you can’t adjust the wattage yourself – which some people might not be crazy about.

But the battery itself is capable of supplying up to 50 watts of power – and the device is capable of using atomizers with resistances as low as .3 ohms – which is super-cool.

  • 1900mAh battery
  • 0ml capacity
  • Self-adjusting up to 50W
  • Supports resistances as low as .3ohms
  • Made from steel and Pyrex Glass
  • LED lights indicate battery charge level
  • 510 threading
  • Built-in safety features make it safe and efficient
The tank and battery are both equipped with 510 threading – which makes them compatible with most modern E-cig devices on the market.

What did we think of this kit?

The Apollo Ohm Go Kit was, to put it simply, an amazing starter sub-ohm kit. It felt good in the hand, is priced very well, and comes packed with pretty much all of the features you’ll need to get started with sub-ohm vaping as a beginner.

As far as the clouds are concerned, be ready for pretty massive vapour. There’s no doubt about the fact that this is a sub-ohm device. It also does super-well on flavour too, which is awesome.

We found it difficult to fault this device, really. It performed so well and is so reasonably priced that we had problems finding downsides to it.

We liked it best when the airflow controller was all the way open, but you can certainly adjust it to fit your personal tastes.

One thing that you will need to remember is that you should always prime your coil before using this E-cig. But it comes with instructions for how to do this, so you shouldn’t have a problem getting it figured out.

All in all, we were super impressed and didn’t see much to complain about! If you’re looking for a high quality sub ohm kit and don’t want to spend a ton of money, then the Ohm Go Kit from Apollo is certainly a choice that you should consider.

Appearance and Feel

The packaging is lovely (as most Apollo packaging is). The specs are printed on the back, as well as a list of some other products that Apollo carries. The cardboard was finished very nicely and gave a very good first impression, which we liked.

When you flip the box open, you’ll be greeted with a small user manual to get you started. It’s pretty basic, but gives you everything you’ll need to get started. After you remove that, you’ll see the kit itself, nicely laid out within the box.

The feel of Apollo Ohm Go

Aesthetically, the tank and the battery go together very well. They look awesome when attached to each other, which is a nice touch. Overall, this E-cig looks incredible! It also packs a punch as a sub-ohm vaping device.

  • Airflow

The airflow is fully adjustable on this tank. It’s stiff to turn, which means that you won’t need to worry about it opening or closing while being handled. You can simply set it where you want it, and leave it there.

  • Material

This device is made mostly of metal (with a rubberized coating) and Pyrex. The construction is high in quality, and it seems to be put together very well. You certainly won’t need to worry about this E-cig not performing up-to-par.

  • Ease of Use

For a sub-ohm device, the Ohm Go is surprisingly user friendly. You won’t need to adjust the wattage because the battery does this automatically – which really makes it more of a plug-in-and-go vapourizer.

The best thing about this kit is that it offers you a sub-ohm vaping experience all in one place for a reasonable price.

The main drawback to the device is probably the fact that you can’t adjust the wattage manually. This makes it easier to use, but some people really like to be able to do this themselves – so that might be considered a downside to some people.
