Aspire Atlantis 2 Sub Ohm Tank Review

Quick Intro

The Aspire Atlantis 2 is a sub ohm tank, and was the follow-up to the original Atlantis – which was probably most well-known for being the first sub ohm tank on the market. You can buy it on Vapour.UK – which is an online E-cig company that carries quite a few different name-brand E-cig products – including a full range of Aspire tanks, which are some of the most popular tanks on the market right now.

The Aspire Atlantis 2 went through some design changes, and compared to the previous model, there are certainly some differences that make it a unique tank – though some similarities still remain.

The most obvious difference is probably the newer tank’s capacity – which was increased by an extra ml, making it much better suited to longer-term sub ohm vaping, and reducing the need to refill it quite as often.

Here’s what we found out while researching and trying the Aspire Atlantis 2 sub ohm tank, which you can find on’s website.

Pros and Cons

Here are the initial pros and cons that we discovered while researching the Aspire Atlantis 2.

  • It’s well made
  • It produces massive clouds of vapor
  • It does a great job of retaining the flavor of the E-liquid
  • It’s simple to use
  • It comes with an extra atomizer
  • It features a 3ml capacity – which is awesome

  • Unlike its predecessor, it doesn’t come with a spare Pyrex glass tank
  • The airflow settings are a bit different on this tank – and offer fewer options than the original Atlantis

What’s in the kit?

When you buy the Aspire Atlantis 2, you also get a replacement 0.5 ohm atomizer.

The Atlantis 2, just like its predecessor, has been well-engineered to prevent leaks. There are seals and rubber rings at virtually every connecting-point, ensuring that E-liquid won’t seep out when the tank isn’t in use.

Larger soak holes in the atomizers for this tank also make dry hits much less common – which is a good thing! Some tanks have a problem with this – though it looks like Aspire has done their homework and made sure that it isn’t a problem with the Atlantis 2.

  • 3ml tank capacity
  • Pyrex glass tank
  • Stainless steel hardware
  • Air-flow control drip tip
  • 510 threads
  • Silicone seals
This tank comes equipped with standard 510 threads – so you should be able to use it with a wide variety of different types of vaporizers and box mods.

What we think of this Tank?

We tested this tank with the Innokin CoolFire 4 box mod – and as expected, it produced massive, billowing clouds of vapor. We also noticed that the vape seemed much cooler to the touch than it did with the first Atlantis – meaning that the airflow holes added to the base of the mouthpiece (along with the larger size of the drip-tip in-general) really made a difference!

In fact, we found that the larger mouthpiece alone made enough of a difference, and we ended up preferring the strength of the vape when we left this airflow control completely closed.

The taste was very nice as well. The flavor of the liquid was definitely preserved. It didn’t taste burnt or overly-sweet, which was awesome.

The construction of the tank seemed solid and high in quality. This seems to be a product that’s going to last a long time – that’s for sure!

Overall, we give the Aspire Atlantis 2 top marks! It’s an awesome sub ohm tank, and a definite top-contender in the sub ohm niche. It’s a solid product – to say the least!

Improvements from the previous version

One difference that we noticed right away was that the original Aspire Atlantis came with an extra Pyrex glass tank – while this one didn’t. This was a bit of a disappointment.

The biggest improvement, however, was the increase in capacity. The original Atlantis tank had a 2.0ml capacity, while the Atlantis 2 sports a larger 3ml tank. This might not seem like much – but when it comes to sub-ohm vaping, an extra ml of tank space is actually very nice to have!

The Atlantis 2 also features an additional airflow controller – which is located at the base of the mouthpiece.

Appearance and Feel

The packaging was pretty nice. It came in a clear case that allowed you to see the tank inside without a problem, and had some of the specs printed on the back.

The Aspire Atlantis 2 actually looks a lot like the original version, though there are some definite differences – especially in the size of the drip tip.

  • Airflow

This tank actually features two different airflow controllers. There’s one near the base of the tank itself, just above the threads – and there’s one at the base of the drip-tip. This really helps to improve airflow, but it also helps to cool the vape down a bit – which is a noticeable improvement, in our opinion.

  • Material

As was the original Atlantis, this device is made from solid stainless-steel and Pyrex glass. It feels sturdy and well-made – and seems to be a product that would last a life-time with proper care and maintenance.

  • Ease of Use

This product is fairly straightforward to use – but don’t forget that you need to let it sit for a few minutes once you put E-liquid in it for the first time, to allow the wick to soak up enough e-juice. This will help you to avoid dry hits.

On a somewhat related note, filling this tank is pretty straightforward. The process is made simpler if you have a bottle with a nozzle on the end, or a stopper to help you drip the liquid down into the device – but all in all, it’s an easy process and not very different from filling the original Atlantis.

Taking apart and re-assembling this tank is also simple. Changing the atomizer, cleaning it, and replacing worn out parts requires very little effort, and can all be done within a matter of minutes.

One of the best things about this tank is that it boasts a much larger 3ml capacity – which is really the new ‘minimum’ for sub-ohm vaping. Sub ohm vaping burns up a lot of E-liquid in a short amount of time – so a larger tank helps to cut down on the number of refills.

Also, the wider drip tip really helps to keep the vapor cool as it enters the mouth and lungs – which is a noticeable and preferable improvement. Overall, the updates that they’ve made on this version (when compared to the initial device) have made a big difference, and seem to have improved the performance of the tank overall.

One of the drawbacks with this tank is that you don’t get a spare Pyrex glass tank with it like you did with the Atlantis 1. Aspire probably did this to keep the costs low – but it would have been nice to see it included.

Also, the airflow settings at the base of this tank aren’t quite as good as those offered on the Atlantis 1. With the Atlantis 1, you had basically 4 different choices – while you only really get 2 with this tank.
