How to extend the life of your E-cig battery

Nobody likes a dead E-cig battery – and anyone who has ever vaped knows exactly how frustrating it can be to have your only source of power go dead – leaving you stuck without a replacement.

And even worse is when the e-cigarette batteries die for good. If you’ve ever had this happen to you, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. First, you begin to realize that your battery just doesn’t last as long as it used to. You find yourself putting it on the charger for longer and longer, hoping that it’ll go ‘back to normal’. Then, one day, you realize that it just doesn’t hold enough of a charge to make it worth the trouble.

It seems like it’s dead as soon as you hook it up. You feel disappointed because you need to order a replacement – and you’re a bit frustrated because these new lithium ion batteries definitely aren’t ‘cheap’, by any stretch of the imagination.

If you can relate to this, then you’ve probably wondered what you can do to help your E-cig batteries last longer – and in this blog post, we’re going to give you some tips that just might help you to get a few extra months-worth of use out of them. This will save you time, money, and needless frustration.

Factors affecting battery life

Information! Believe it or not, giving your batteries some extra longevity isn’t as difficult as you might expect!

Puff on your E-cig a bit less

While this might not be the most popular tip on our list, it definitely has some merit. Using your E-cig battery less (taking fewer puffs on your device) will simply drain your battery slower. This means fewer charges, which will equal a longer overall lifespan. Plus, it’ll save you money – because you’ll burn through less E-liquid!

Let your battery drain completely before putting it back on the charger

E-cig batteries do better over the course of their lifespan if you let them die completely before recharging them. This not only equals fewer plug-ins on the charger, but also helps to keep the battery ‘memory’ from only charging it for the amount that it’s used to needing.

Charge new batteries completely before using them

Most new batteries do come with a charge – but they’re usually not charged all the way. By putting your battery on the charger when you first open up the package, you’ll be getting off to a good start by using it with a full-tank from the get-go.

Larger and better quality batteries just last longer

Remember that larger batteries hold a bigger charge which obviously mean that they’re going to last longer before needing to be plugged in – which means that you’ll be able to plug them in less-often. This equals a longer overall lifespan, and more usage for your money. So if in doubt, try to buy a larger and better battery. In the long run, it’ll probably give you better value for your money!

Storage temperature

High storage temperatures, especially for longer periods of time, have a very bad effect on the charge that battery can hold. This then results in a reduction of the overall battery life and worsens the e-cig performance, so keep this in mind too.

As a last resort, you can always keep a new, unopened battery on-hand as a backup

While this might not necessarily save you any money, keeping an unopened battery on-hand could save you from being without while you wait for a replacement to arrive. This could save you a lot of time and frustration, though it could also give you more time to seek out a quality replacement.

Not having to rush your purchase may also allow you to buy something that’ll work better for you.

In the end, remember that batteries never last forever. But by using a few of these tricks, you’ll doubtlessly be able to get the most out of them before they die – and that’s really what it’s all about.
