Jac Vapour Series S Review – TPD Compliant!
The greatest thing about this device is that it's actually a TPD compliant vape pen!
The Jac Vapour Series-S has literally just hit the market – and we couldn’t have been more excited about unboxing and trying it for ourselves! We were admittedly in a bit of a rush to get our hands on one – so when Jac Vapour came through with a speedy delivery, we were quite elated!
There is more than one reason for why we were excited about this device. Not only is it a new vape pen from Jac Vapour – but it’s also the first-of-its-kind in the sense that it is supposed to be the very first TPD compliant E-cig to hit the shelves since the regulations were enacted earlier this year – which is awesome!
Granted, these regulations might be challenging for some – but we are stoked to see that Jac Vapour was quick to answer the challenges in a proactive way.
So, without further delay, here’s what we found when we pulled the Series-S out of the box for the very first time!
Pros and Cons
Here are the basic pros and cons that we discovered over the course of our research…
- It’s TPD compliant
- Comes with 2 different coils for different vaping styles
- Made of stainless steel and Pyrex glass
- It looks great
- It vapes extremely well! It definitely lived up to the hype
- It’s priced very reasonably
- Aesthetically speaking, we wished that the button had been made stainless as well
- The tank seems small, but this isn’t Jac Vapour’s fault at all. They made the device TPD compliant. The new rules limit tank sizes to 2ml or less, and it fits well within these parameters with 1.8ml
- All of the coils work well, but in our opinion, the 1.0Ohm mouth to lung coil didn’t really measure up to the greatness of the sub ohm coil… but then again, that’s sort of a preferential statement

What’s in the starter kit?
In the starter kit, you’ll find the Series-S Battery, the Series-S Tank, 2 S-Coils, 1 Charger, and 1 Instruction manual.
The USB charging cable was quite substantial and well-made. It certainly wasn’t a cheap cable. It’s about a meter long, with a micro USB connector on one end, and a USB connector on the other.
The user manual was also well-made. It was thick and sturdy, and contained several diagrams, along with everything you could possibly need to get your device up and running as quickly as possible.
We looked at the coils next. This device actually doesn’t come with a coil already installed in it – but there’s a good reason for that. It comes with two different coils, and since neither is installed upon arrival, you get to choose which one you want to install first – which is perfectly fine as far as we are concerned.
Information! There are actually 3 different coils available for this product – though it only comes with 2 in the kit.
It comes with a 0.5Ohm coil (a wide coil built for direct to lung vaping), and a 1.0Ohm coil (a thinner coil built for mouth to lung vaping).
Jac Vapour also sent us through a package of coils, in which we received the other type of coil as well – a larger coil that looks like the sub-ohm coil, but that’s rated at 1.0Ohms like the mouth to lung coil.
Since we got all three, decided to try them all.
The pen itself is amazing. To start with, the charge port is on the bottom part of the side of the battery – not on the very bottom, so you can stand it up while charging it. It also has pass-through charging, which means that you can vape while you’re charging – which is pretty awesome.
There are two pretty lovely looking LED lights on the sides of the firing button. The firing button felt really nice, and seemed to be made with a rubberized coating on it – though, from an aesthetic sense, we were perhaps a bit disappointed that it wasn’t colored steel like the rest of the pen!
At 900mAh, the battery is actually pretty powerful. Obviously, your choice in coils will dictate how long it will last – but honestly, you shouldn’t have a problem with it if you charge it up when it’s not in use – and if in doubt, just buy a spare battery.
Information! The tank looks phenomenal. It’s made with Pyrex glass and steel, and the drip-tip is removable. It has a 1.8ml capacity as well, meaning that it falls well within the parameters of the new TPD regulations.
Installing the atomizers and refilling the tank are both fairly easy tasks. If you’ve ever installed an atomizer or refilled a tank before, then you’ll be good to go with this one. The tank does seem a bit small, but this is the new compliant tank size – and Jac Vapour did a great job crafting it within the parameters of the new regulations! So Kudos to them for taking such details into account!
Note: Remember to let the new atomizer and E-liquid sit and soak for about fifteen minutes after you fill it up, before trying it for the first time, just to let the atomizer soak up enough of the liquid to avoid a dry hit!
- 900 mAh battery capacity
- Boasts sub-ohm capabilities
- Can be used for direct-lung or mouth-to-lung vaping, whichever is preferred by the user
- Sleekly designed and elegantly styled
- TPD compliant
- Designed with user progression in mind, it can be adapted to your personal vaping style without a problem
- Can utilize coils rated as low as 0.5Ohm
What did we think of the Series S Starter Kit?
The first coil we tested it with was the 1.0Ohm mouth to lung coil. We also closed the airflow just a little bit, to give it more of a cigarette-like resistance. It worked incredibly fast (it was very responsive), gave us amazing flavour, and provided a pretty decent amount of vapour. It actually gave a better, smoother vape than we expected, and produced way more vapour with this atomizer than we anticipated. It wasn’t even a sub-ohm coil, which impressed us.
Next, we tried it with the 1.0Ohm Direct to Lung atomizer, which was the atomizer that came separately and not in the box. This coil was a bit larger in diameter, but had the same resistance as the previous coil.
The result was a smooth vape with lots of vapour. There was also a lot more flavour in comparison to what we got with the other atomizer. It was really, really nice. It was much more free-flowing, and provided very little resistance – which gave us a lot more vapour for the effort.
And last, but certainly not least, we tried it with the .5Ohm Direct to Lung coil, which is the sub ohm coil that it ships with. We were really looking forward to this one, and it didn’t disappoint. This setup actually kicked out way more vapour than we ever expected. Even though it’s not a massive, high wattage mod, it produced truly impressive plumes of vapour. The flavour quality was also amazing.
This pen is well made, falls well within the TPD regulations, and would work as well for a new vaper as it would for someone experienced. If you’re a hardcore sub ohm vaper and are accustomed to big mods with huge, bulky tanks on them, then this might not be your cup of tea.
But, if you want a TPD compliant device with pretty amazing sub ohm capabilities and don’t mind a smaller 900mAh battery, then we definitely and enthusiastically recommend the Series-S as the incredible vape pen that we were hoping it would be!
Appearance and Feel
The box that the Series S came in was pretty standard, but nice. Along with the vape pen, we also received a small flyer, which had a list of ‘10 ways the TPD will affect you’, and some information about the laws and compliance that would be helpful for vapers to know.
It was a bit lengthy and we won’t include all of the information here – but essentially, it listed 10 of the most significant ways in which vaping will be impacted by the TPD, and provides some general information that all vapers should probably know.
We were quite impressed to see this included in the packaging – so well-done to Jac Vapour on that point.
We got the stainless steel model, which we really liked. It looked wicked, to be honest. It was wrapped in a nice plastic package inside the box, but we loved the feel of the pen in-hand. It was lovely.
The battery has an airflow hole near the base to allow for battery ventilation, as well as grooves at the top to help the connection to get better airflow for cooling. The tank also has an adjustable airflow control, which was very nice to see.
The pen is made from a combination of Pyrex glass and stainless steel – so you shouldn’t have a problem with damage or breakdowns. It seems very, very well made.
- Ease of Use
It doesn’t get much easier than this, to be honest. The firing button is the button that activates the battery. It’s also the button that controls the locking mechanism. Click it five times to lock/unlock the battery, and then hold it down to vape. That’s about it.
The best thing about this vape pen is certainly the fact that it is TPD compliant!
We do wish that the firing button had been made stainless steel in color, but this is just an aesthetic preference, really, that has nothing to do with how the device functions.

Additional recommended products from this company
You can order packs of atomizer from Jac Vapour that are specifically made for this vape pen – so we would recommend that you pick one up when you place your order, just so that you won’t have yours burn out on you and be left without while you wait for replacements to ship. We recommend the .5Ohm coils… but that’s just our opinion!
