Is a personal charging case really worth the money?

If you have been shopping for E-cig minis, then you have likely found that some kits ship with a PCC, or ‘personal charging case’. These types of kits often cost more than the kits that don’t come with them, which leaves many people wondering if they are really worth the money.

This is understandable and definitely relatable. E-cig starter kits are not necessarily cheap, and it would make sense to wonder if you really need to pay extra to get something that you may or may not use. In this article, we will talk about exactly what a PCC does, how it can be useful, and whether or not it really tends to be worth the money for the average vaper.

Hopefully this will help you to decide for yourself whether or not it is something that you might be interested in buying.

What is a PCC?

A personal charging case is generally a small, plastic case that is the same size as a pack of cigarettes, though it is usually made out of sturdier plastic. It has a charging port on the outside and a built-in rechargeable battery that allows you to plug it in when it is not in use. This charges the internal battery.

On the inside, you will notice that it will contain one or more internal ports that are designed to charge actual mini E-cig batteries. To plug them in, you usually need to insert them and ‘screw’ them in gently until they make contact with the charger. Once they are plugged in, they will begin to recharge using the larger PCC battery as a power source.

In essence, a personal charging case acts as a charger when you are nowhere near a plug in or an alternative power source.

Is a PCC useful?

A portable charging case can indeed be useful, though its usefulness mostly depends upon how often you vape and on how often you are able to charge your device. If you spend all day in an office and have no problem keeping your batteries charged using an outlet or computer USB port, then you may not end up needing one.

If however, you often find yourself on the go and away from any other charging sources on a regular basis, then a PCC might be a fantastic way for you to avoid buying a ton of batteries because it can allow you to keep one or two charging while one is in use.

Most personal charging cases can fully charge anywhere from 4 to 7 batteries before they need to be recharged, making them an excellent addition to your kit if you don’t get to utilize your USB or wall charger during the day.

Is a portable charging case worth the money? Is it going to be a good choice for you?

If you are wondering whether or not you should buy a personal charging case for your own use, then here are some questions that you might want to ask yourself.

  • Do I usually use more than 1 battery per day?
  • Do I spend a lot of time away from other charging sources?
  • Am I constantly finding myself away from home with my batteries dead?
  • Do I sometimes have to buy a pack of cigarettes because my batteries didn’t last me the entire day?
  • Do I often wish that I could charge batteries while on-the-go?
  • Am I tired of carrying four or five mini batteries around when I could reduce the number to two or three if I had a way to charge them?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, then there is a very good chance that you would find a PCC a useful piece of equipment. A personal charging case can, indeed, solve many problems related to keeping your batteries charged on the go.

As for whether or not it is worth the money, the answer to this question is probably a ‘yes’ if you would use it at least once or twice per week.

If you would only use it rarely or possibly never at all, then you would probably not be missing anything by buying a cheaper kit. But having it on hand if you can think of instances where it would be useful could definitely be worth the cost, as they are pretty low-priced when you consider what you are getting for the money.
