Introduction – Social-Lites Review
Social-Lites is an E-cig company that produces and sells several different E-cig products. Their main product is a starter kit called The Premium Stater Kit, and most of what they offer is meant to accompany or enhance this kit – so in that respect, they don’t carry a huge range of different products (at least, they didn’t as of the time that this review was written).
But the starter kit and products that they do carry are definitely impressive. Their Premium Kit is very well-made, and seems to offer a lot of value for the money. I was initially pretty impressed by their website as well, and wasn’t disappointed as I browsed and conducted my research.
My first thought about Social-Lites was that they seem to focus more on quality than on quantity or selection – and I was happy to find that I wasn’t far off with this frame of mind. They definitely seem to take quality seriously – though that doesn’t mean that they’re without a few minor downsides.
Positives and Negatives
- Their products seem well made
- They offer a decent selection
- They offer a 1 year warranty on their Premium Starter Kit
- They offer a 30 day money back guarantee
- Their E-cigs consist of a 2-piece design and produce a decent amount of vapour for minis
- Some customers have complained that their products are a bit on the expensive side
- Some reviews have said that their E-cigs aren’t much better than some of the cheaper generic kits on the market (though it should also be noted that these complaints are not that common – and that the vast majority of people really do seem to like these products)
What products/accessories can be purchased?
Social-Lites sells several different E-cig products – so we’re going to spend a minute talking about some of their more popular options. The main kit that they offer is called The Premium Starter Kit. This kit seems to be their standard offering for people looking to get started with E-cigs, and actually contains a lot of value for the money.
It’s a cig-a-like, or ‘mini’ kit, which means that the E-cigs that it comes with look, feel, and weigh about the same as real cigarettes. It comes with a personal charging case, two batteries, a wall charger, a USB charger, a package of five cartomizers, and a few other items as well. It also comes with a 1 year warranty and a 30 day money back guarantee – which adds to the value. This kit sells for £36.75 after tax has been included.
You can also buy cartridges, disposables, and E-liquids from Social-Lites – but we’ll talk more about some of these in another section of the review.
As it stands, I felt that they carry a somewhat limited selection of products – though I’ll also admit that it seems as though they’ve gone all-out to make this kit as nice as it could possibly be. Their Premium Starter Kit really does seem to be ‘top of the line’, and though it’s a bit on the pricy side, I can see how it could be worth the money. You’d really be investing in something that would probably last you for years.
Package and design
I can definitely say that the packaging on these products is high-quality. When you open one up, you really get the feeling that they’ve been kept fresh and protected.
The design-work of the products themselves is also very nice. The E-cigs are a glossy black color, and their charging case looks a lot like a traditional cigarette box. The chargers, cartomizers, and batteries all match to give everything a cohesive look. These kits definitely don’t look like they contain random elements that were just thrown together – and that’s a good thing. I would label them as ‘stylish and modern’, and definitely wouldn’t have a problem taking one with me to the club for a vape.
User reviews for this company were mixed. I was actually surprised because I was expecting to hear nothing but good things about them – though I did come across a number of negative reviews that demanded a closer look. As it turned out, most people really seem to like these kits – though there are definitely some who don’t. The biggest complaint that I’ve heard (and by far the most common one) was that their kits are overpriced and not much better than cheap generic kits.
Of course, most people who buy this brand seem to disagree with this, and there is even a video on the Social-Lites website where a representative of the company shows the difference between a generic brand and theirs. In the end, I would have to say that I was convinced that Social-Lites was probably better than their generic competitors, though I can also see what people are saying when they say that the products may be overpriced. They do offer a lot of quality, and they do offer a 1 year warranty with their Premium Starter Kit, but £36.75 is definitely no small amount to spend on an E-cig. A lot of companies offer bigger kits for less than that – so the question really bears asking… is Social-Lites worth the extra money?
If you want something really nice and don’t really care about the cost, then this kit might definitely be for you. But if you’re bothered by the idea of spending that much and want to look for alternatives, you should also be aware of the fact that there are cheaper options out there.
Product choice was pretty good. They carry 9 different flavour options, one starter kit, some disposable minis, and some refill cartridges. Their brand is really all built around their Premium Stater Kit, so they’re a bit limited where products are concerned when you compare them to some other brands.
One thing that I found a bit strange was that they show a video of what they call an Advanced Starter Kit on their home page. This seems to be an e-go kit with a larger battery, but I can find it nowhere on their website. Maybe they offer it on a different website under a different domain? If so, then it might be worth a look, as a kit like this could offer a lot of diversity to a company that is otherwise pretty singular in their offerings.
Social-Lites offers 9 different E-cig flavours… Tobacco Red, Tobacco Gold, Tobacco SL1, Menthol, Vanilla, Coffee, Cherry, and Peach Schnapps.
Their flavour selection is definitely limited, but not so much that I would count it as a negative. They do offer some good specialty choices to go along with their tobacco options – so customers should definitely be able to find a few different choices to suit their tastes.
Most of Social-Lites’ E-liquid flavours come in four different nicotine strengths… High (24mg), Medium (16mg), Low (8mg), and Zero (0mg).
About the company
Social-Lites is a company based out of the Gold Coast in Australia, though they also have a headquarters in the UK. They call themselves ‘one of the most renowned and reliable electronic cigarettes suppliers in Australia & now in the UK.’
Social-Lites Pty Ltd
Unit C&D, Dales Manor Bus Pk
Sawston, CB22 3TJ
According to the company, they did an extensive amount of research and development before the company was created to ensure that their products were going to be of the very highest quality possible. By my understanding, their vision was to create some of the most authentic and luxurious smoking sensations available in an E-cig, both in the UK and also around the world.
Value for the money
I would say that this company offers value for the money – though I honestly do believe that other companies may offer a bit more (depending on what you’re looking for).
A 10ml bottle of E-liquid from Social-Lites costs £5.50, and a pack of 3 cartomizers sells for the same amount.
In the end, I found Social-Lites to be a good choice for anyone looking for a high quality mini starter kit – though you’ll probably be disappointed if you’re looking for something low-budget or more advanced than a cig-a-like. Still, they offer some great E-liquids and carry a very premium-grade starter kit – so if you’re new to vaping or looking to upgrade your mini kit to something that you know you can trust and rely on, then Social-Lites may be a great website to check out.
