TruVape Review

Introduction – TruVape Review

Our first impression of the TruVape website was very good. TruVape is an electronic cigarette brand that has actually made quite a name for itself, and we were excited for the chance to take a more in-depth look at exactly what they have to offer.

The website, at first glance, was very attractive. It was clean, intuitive, and user-friendly. The menu options were pretty basic, and the pictures featured on the site (mostly advertisements) were very professional. Of course, a superior website design does not necessarily equal a better product, but the TruVape website was definitely one of the most attractive pages that we have looked at in a long time. The advertisement for their strawberry flavour, in fact, really made us want to order it!

Speaking of their strawberry flavour, we also found out that their specialty flavours are actually made with ‘natural extracts’ and are said to be free of ‘nasty chemicals’. We were very intrigued by this, and will talk more about it a bit later on in the review.

Our initial first impression of their vaping products was also very good. We really liked how clean and professional their vape pens looked, and were excited to find out more about them.

But are the products worth all of the hype? Here is what we found out when writing our TruVape review….

Positives and Negatives

Here are some of the initial pros and cons of TruVape products.

  • Products are very high in quality
  • Vapour production is very good
  • Prices are competitive
  • They offer free shipping on orders over £15.00

  • They don’t offer the most customer-friendly warranty

What products/accessories can be purchased?

TruVape offers a few starter kits and then an assortment of accessories to complement them. They also sell quite a few different E-liquids (I think they carry 24 of them), ranging from traditional tobacco flavours to fruity options like strawberry and blueberry. Here is a quick breakdown of the different starter kits and what buyers can expect to get with each one.

TruVape HybridTru Hybrid (E-go style vape pen)

Price: £20.00

  • 1 650mAh battery
  • 1 1.7ml refillable tank
  • 1 USB charger

Tru Classic (Mini style E-cig)

TruVape HybridPrice: £18.00

  • 1 280mAh battery
  • 1 USB charger
  • 2 cartridges

As you can see, TruVape offers basically two different types of starter kits and two different styles of E-cig… a mini, and an E-go. Of course, we do wish that they carried more different options, but even with these being the two predominant starter kits offered by TruVape, vapers are still getting a great deal.

Package and design

TruVape kits come in small, attractively-designed cardboard boxes with the company logo printed on the front. These boxes are very small (just big enough to fit everything inside), but they are effective and get the job done. To be quite honest, we didn’t find anything to complain about in this area. You do have the option to buy special cases for them that are much sturdier and designed to be carried around during the day, though these cost extra and do not come with the starter kits.

TruVape e-cigs packaging

As far as the design goes, TruVape has apparently put a lot into trying to make their products look good, and it is definitely noticeable. Our opinion was that their minis looked very realistic, while their E-go style Hybrids looked cool and modern. As far as we were concerned, TruVape should get high marks for design.

Battery performance

TruVape products have an excellent reputation for battery life, and over the course of our research we found it to be well deserved. Granted, the 650mAh Hybrid battery is going to get more vaping accomplished between charges than the 280mAh Tru Classic mini battery, though both hold a charge well and seem to be built with durability in mind.

Vapour production

We were actually very impressed with the amount of vapor produced by TruVape products, especially when it came to the Hybrid. Users and reviewers alike also seem to agree that the throat hit is great on these products.

TruVape carries 28 different flavours, all made from ‘natural extracts’ and said to be free of ‘nasty chemicals’. Flavours range from tobacco, to banana, to menthol, to even more obscure flavours like rainbow and energy cow.

As far as we are concerned, TruVape deserves kudos for carrying so many flavours and for making them out of natural extracts. We are not completely sure that this makes them different from the e-liquids offered by other brands, but it does make us feel better about them!

Nicotine levels

TruVape E-liquid flavours are currently available in four basic nicotine strengths: 0mg, 6mg, 12mg, and 18mg.

About the company

TruVape has been undertaking continued research and development in order to make their products better and to deliver cutting edge technology at affordable prices. In fact, the Hybrid alone has undergone a few different version changes over the course of its lifetime.

The TruVape Electronic Cigarette brand is actually owned by Sky Thrones Ltd, which is a UK domiciled business based in Wigan, Lancashire. They are a UK registered limited company that specializes in the design and manufacture of E-cigs, E-liquids, and accessories.

Users reported that e-liquid label states that TruVape e-liquid is manufactured in China! Please be aware or double check with TruVape directly before shopping on their site.
TruVape supplies an email address and a telephone number on their website that customers can use to get in touch with them. They also host a google map on their website indicating where their physical business location can be found. As far as we can tell, they seem to offer pretty high quality customer support. We definitely couldn’t find any reason to complain about this category.
TruVape offers free shipping on orders valued at more than £15. Shipping costs vary, but are always calculated at the checkout so that you can see exactly what you are going to have to pay. We found this free shipping option very reasonable and customer friendly, and believe that TruVape deserves credit for basically guaranteeing free shipping to customers, even if they don’t order a ton of stuff. Some companies offer free shipping on orders valued over £50 or £100, but what good are these going to do when your starter kits cost £20-£30?

Kudos to TruVape for actually offering a free shipping option that customers will be able to utilize.

Unfortunately, TruVape will not accept returns on un-faulty items that have already been opened. If you receive the item and then decide that you don’t want it before you open or use it, then you have 30 days to return it. Otherwise, you have a general 6 month warranty on most items. If they are faulty or quit working, you can return them within this time.

Value for the money

TruVape products are made from high quality components, they offer a great throat hit, and they offer a wide variety of flavour options. They might not be the absolute cheapest products out there, and it might be nice if they had more to choose from, though it is difficult to find anything really meaningful to complain about. They seem to be a very legitimate choice, especially for new vapers who are looking for an affordable E-cig kit.

Running costs

A 10ml bottle of E-liquid costs £4.00 if you order it from TruVape. Most people seem to agree that 10ml of e-liquid is the equivalent of around 120 analog cigarettes, though this is quite debated. Some say it is equal to as many as 200, but it really all depends upon how you vape. If you take longer drags, then the bottle may not last quite as long.

We were pretty impressed with TruVape. To be honest, we liked them from the very beginning, and we remained fairly impressed as we did our research. Users and reviewers alike seem to like them, and it definitely looks like they try their best to offer high quality products to their customers. To be honest, they probably offer the greatest value for new vapers, as their affordable starter kits are very user friendly and the package contents are easy to understand.

Thanks for stopping by Tom! Currently it is illegal to possess cannabis oil and any other cannabis products in the UK, even for medical use and for this reason, it would be inappropriate to provide a supportive answer to your question.

My device has stopped working after a week of getting. I cant get a refund at my local shop as i have no receipt. Then put in charge for a few hours and go to use it again. I get 1 pull from it and it goes off. I found it brilliant and have smoked less then i did. Would be off them completely by now but back to start. Very disappointed.

Sorry to hear that Sarah! Unfortunately it’s a very common practice to get a faulty device every now and then, even from good companies. This is why we always advice to keep the receipt or alternatively shop online. When shopping online, you always get an invoice by email which is a lot harder to lose, even deleted emails can be restored from trash folders. :-)) Before that however, I would recommend to always check the guarantee and return policy of the company you’re buying from. So called e-cig internet shops that don’t sell their own brands but many other brands, often get their stock from China and as we all know many of such products are badly made. There are of course some good ones too but it’s a completely different basket when comparing to a local e-cig company that manufacture’s their products in the UK or Europe. Anyway, I hope your next device will last you longer and thanks for stopping by. Nicole
