V2 Cigs Pro Series 7 Review
According to V2 Cigs, the Series 7 is basically exactly like the Series 3 – though it offers a few additional features that give you even more control over the quality of your vape. Some features that made it into this model that weren’t available in the Series 3 include variable voltage and variable temperature settings – both of which add a great deal of depth to the usage of the vaporizer by giving you more options for controlling the atomization of the E-liquid.
Of course, there’s definitely more to this device than just this simple explanation – so let’s get started. Here’s what we found out about the Series 7 and its capabilities over the course of our research/review.
Pros and Cons
Here are the basic pros and cons that I discovered about the V2 Pro Series 7.
- It seems well made, sturdy, and reliable
- It’s fantastic as a dry herb vaporizer. In fact, this might be its most impressive feature.
- It does a great job of staying cool during use
- It will vape dry herbs, wax, and E-liquid – hence, the 3-in-1 vaporizer label.
- The kit comes with two cartridges – a dry herb cartridge and an E-liquid cartridge – both of which are awesome and add a lot of value to the kit.
- The metal finish tends to scratch easily, which is a bit unfortunate
- The charger that comes with it has a short lead on it – which makes vaping while charging a bit challenging
- There’s no airflow control
- You can’t buy replacement parts for the cartridges. Instead, you need to buy the entire cartridge if you require a replacement.
What’s in the starter kit?
The V2 Pro Series 7 Vaporizer Kit comes with everything that you need to get started. It includes the S7 Vaporizer Unit, a magnetic USB charging cord, a wall adapter, an E-liquid cartridge, a loose leaf cartridge, and a pick and brush for basic cartridge maintenance.[print_responsive_slider_plus_lightbox id=”9″]
Like the Series 3, this vaporizer is a 3-in-1 unit. This means that it will allow you to enjoy vaping in three unique mediums – E-liquid, loose leaf, and wax. Of course, you’ll need to buy the right cartridges for each – but once you have them, you should be good to go, making this device ideal for someone who enjoys two or three of these options without requiring them to own more than one vaporizer.
The charger that comes with this kit is actually a bit better than the charger you get with the Series 3. It allows you to pull more of a charge in less time, so it’s a bit faster.
It also comes with the E-liquid cartridge and the dry leaf cartridge – though it looks like you might need to buy the wax cartridge separately if you plan on using it.
The charger is very similar to the one offered with the Series 3. It connects to the vaporizer using a high-powered magnet, and looks like it could definitely last a long time without failing or falling apart. It also has pass-through charging, so you can actually vape with the Series 7 while it’s charging, which is a very cool feature!
With this type of a vaporizer, it’s very important that you keep the cartridges clean – which is why there are a few small ‘cleaning tools’ included in the starter kit. These are very helpful for keeping things tidy – especially where the dry herb cartridge is concerned.
You can change both the voltage and the temperature settings on this device, though not necessarily at the same time. When the E-liquid cartridge is plugged in, your variable settings option is voltage. Then, when the dry herb cartridge is installed, your settings option changes to temperature.
Attention! This device doesn’t offer much in the way of compatibility with other devices, mostly because it’s actually an all-in-one unit. For that reason, you can’t really buy replacement parts that aren’t built specifically for the V2, and even then, there are a lot of small, specific parts that you cannot buy without purchasing the larger components as a whole (you can buy cartridges, but not replacement parts for them, etc.).
What we think of this kit
We feel like this kit is sharp and clever. It’s really easy to use, and Andy felt like the magnetic cartridge system is really nice and works extremely well. This product might not have as many variable settings options as a box mod, but it does offer some flexibility, and it gives you the ability to vape E-liquid, wax, and dry herbs – which his pretty awesome.
You don’t get a wax cartridge with the kit, but you can order one from V2 Cigs’ website – and they’re actually pretty affordable.
This product definitely isn’t a gimmick! It doesn’t look like one, feel like one, or vape like one. It doesn’t produce huge clouds of vapor, but it does create a lot of flavor and a good throat hit – both of which are good things.
If you’re just looking for something to vape E-liquid with, then this product, for the price, might not be the most affordable option. But as a dry herb vaporizer and a 3-in-1 device, it’s an amazing product that can save you a lot of time, money, and trouble.
Overall, this is a fantastic kit! It’s solid, sturdy, and works very well. It might not be perfect – but it gets the job done and gives you 3 vape options in 1 device – so really, there isn’t much to complain about.
Appearance and Feel
The box that this product comes in is very nice. It’s got a nice glossy finish to it, is well marked, and seems to do a good job of representing the vaporizer inside. It consists of a sleeve-type covering on the outside with a cardboard display box on the inside, which is simply marked and presents the product nicely.
The manual comes with a nice glossy, laminated finish. It definitely looks like it’s an accessory that’s going to last.
The size of this vaporizer is pretty nice. It fits well within the hand, and seems to offer a nice-enough grip – though the shape is a little bit strange. It’s sort of long and flat – so it takes a bit of use to feel normal.
Being a fully-encased system (much like the Series 3) makes this vaporizer look very neat and clean. It almost doesn’t look like an E-cig. It looks more like some kind of sophisticated technical device – which is actually pretty cool.
The cartridges that come with the Series 7 are fully magnetic, which is definitely an awesome feature. They simply ‘click’ and ‘stick’ in place using small magnets, which to me seems like the most efficient way to connect the cartridges to the device – so I was definitely pleased with this.
With how these cartridges are designed, it’s actually very difficult to fill them up wrong. There’s a lot of room for E-liquid filling – so much so that getting it in the center (which is a bad thing) is actually difficult to do. This is a very appreciated feature, and makes refilling the device super-easy.
The cartridges are each designed a bit differently in how they communicate with the micro-processor on board the Series 7- which is how the device itself tells the difference between different types of cartridges. When you plug in the E-liquid cartridge, the device will sense this and will alter settings accordingly – but it will also do this with the wax cartridge and the dry herb cartridges as well.
All in all, the cartridge system is really, really nice. I feel like this is an excellent setup, especially for a vaporizer that can vape three different mediums.
One really nice thing about it is that it doesn’t get hot on the outside while it’s in use – which is definitely a good thing! It’s always a pain when your vaporizer gets too hot, so kudos to V2 Cigs for eliminating this problem in the Series 7.
Cartridges can be changed at any time on this device – even while it’s still switched on! That’s how intuitive and easy it is to use.
The charging lead that comes with the Series 7 is a little bit short to make pass-through charging easy when you’re sitting anywhere other than right in front of an outlet, so it might be nice if it were a little bit longer – though this is definitely a small downside.
You can’t buy replacement parts for cartridges, which disappointed me a little. Their usage life could perhaps be improved greatly with such an option – though I’m afraid, at this point, there’s nothing to be done but to throw it away and buy a new one if your cartridge ends up failing.
Also, the outside finish on the product tends to show scratches and dings rather well – so carrying it around in your pocket with your keys will likely result in scratches that will take away from the clean, smooth, finished look. This is, at least, a small downside, as it would have been nice to see a tougher finish on the final device itself.
It would also be nice to see an airflow control, as it can be a bit difficult to draw air through the Series 7 at times – though that might also be more of a preference than an actual complaint.
Additional recommended products from this company
V2 offers another 3-in-1 vaporizer called the Series 3, and I would definitely recommend that device as well if you’re looking for a product that’s a bit less expensive than the Series 7. It comes with fewer features, but it definitely delivers a lot of value for the money, and is one of my favorite E-cigs that V2 carries.
