Volcano E-cigs Review
Introduction – Volcano E-Cigs Review
Volcano E-cigs was actually founded in the US state of Hawaii (hence the exotic names of some of their products) in 2009, though they also maintain an international presence, including a European website.
The first thing that most people will notice about Volcano E-cigs is the name. Of course, E-cigs are not generally equated to volcanoes and lava, so that makes this brand interesting and unique. We rather felt that the whole name and picture was pretty cool. The designs on the products that reflect this marketing scheme also seem to fit rather well, and give the products a new and interesting visual edge.
To start with, let’s discuss the website. The volcano website is fairly simple. Some simple menu options are offered on the home page, as are a few different buttons and tabs. We did find out that Volcano offers a range of instructional videos for people who might not know how to use their E-cigs properly, which is a very welcomed feature. They also host a forum on their website, which is also very helpful.
But is the product quality any good, or will users be disappointed? These are the kinds of questions that we were interested in finding out, and here is what we found when writing our volcano e-cigs review.
Positives and Negatives
Here are some of the initial pros and cons of Volcano E-cig products.
- Products look sleek and modern
- They offer quite a few flavour options
- They offer free shipping
- Prices on starter kits are pretty good
- Customer service sounds very efficient and polite
- Vapour production isn’t the best
- It seems like a lot of users have problems with batteries, PCCs, and chargers that require exchanges and returns
- Users and reviewers have said that the mini batteries can be inconsistent, with some working better than others
What products/accessories can be purchased?
Volcano offers three basic starter kits: the MAGMA Kit, the INFERNO Starter Kit, and the LAVATUBE 2.5 Tank Kit. All of these kits are a little bit different. The MAGMA Kit is Volcano’s primary mini kit, the INFERNO is an E-go style starter kit, and the LAVATUBE is a variable voltage vaporizer. You get a pretty standard array of features with each kit. Here is what you get with the MAGMA Kit, for example…
- 1 Personal Charging Case
- 2 Batteries
- 5 Cartomizers
- 1 USB Cable
- 1 Wall Charger
- 1 USB Charger
Package and design
The packaging on Volcano products seemed very nice. Everything is packed neatly into a conveniently sized cardboard box, which looks very sleek and impressive. It is black with the Volcano logo on the front. Again, we have to mention that we really like the logo and the whole marketing scheme behind these products. Even the cartomizers (most of which are red), when attached to the sleek black or white batteries, look very cool.
As far as their product designs go, we loved how these products looked. We actually came across a few reviews that complained about their products looking ‘plain’, which was surprising to us because we definitely don’t agree. Of course, there is a chance that what we were reading was a bit dated, which does tend to happen because companies have been known to change how their products look fairly often, especially if they have been around for a few years like Volcano has.
Battery performance on Volcano products is said to be pretty good. Of course, the larger the battery, the longer you can expect it to last. What we have actually heard very good things about, interestingly enough, is the PCC that comes with the MAGMA Kit. One user said that she was able to recharge her battery more than six times with the case, which is pretty impressive! There is also room inside of it for one full-sized, assembled E-cig, along with room for spare batteries and extra cartomizers.
Vapour production was, unfortunately, said to be ‘a bit less than desirable’ for some. Of course, this complaint was mostly directed at the MAGMA minis, not at the larger variable voltage and E-go style devices.
Volcano actually offers a pretty big selection of different types of E-liquid. They offer standard tobacco and menthol flavours, but also carry specialty flavours like Shaka Strawberry, Sharks Clove, Milk Chocolate, Pineapple Punch, and more. Some users have said that their flavours can taste a bit ‘different’ than what they are labeled as. One reviewer, for example, said that they felt like the vanilla tasted like banana, etc.
Of course, taste is definitely a matter of preference, and everybody’s preferences are just a little bit different. For the most part, though, it seems like Volcano has a good reputation where its flavours are concerned.
Most of Volcano’s flavours come in four different nicotine strengths: Zero 0mg, Light 8mg, Full Flavoured 16mg, and Strong 24mg. interestingly, all of their E-liquids are also made in the USA.
About the company
Volcano E-cigs calls their company ‘a leader in the electronic cigarette industry’. They have been releasing innovative products that have met with praise and success in the vaping world for years, and continue to do so today on an international level.
Value for the money
Volcano definitely offers value for the money. Their products are well made, their batteries last pretty well considering their size, and the personal charging case that sells with the MAGMA starting kit does a fantastic job of keeping the smaller mini batteries charged up and going strong. Of course, their products are not perfect, and you may be able to get deals just as good somewhere else… but Volcano has been around for a long time and they are a company with a reputation for taking care of their customers.
You can buy a 15ml bottle of E-liquid from Volcano for £9.99. Most people agree that a 15ml bottle of e-liquid is comparable to about 180 analog cigarettes. If you do the math and divide to get down to how much you are spending per comparable pack, then it comes out to about £1.11, which is much cheaper than any pack of analog cigarettes that you could buy.
In the end, we were pretty pleased with what we found while researching Volcano E-cigs. They offer some pretty good products while keeping the prices relatively low. They may not offer the best deals in the E-cig world, but they are a competitive E-cig retailer with a pretty decent history of customer service. If you are looking for something new, sleek, stylish, and affordable, then Volcano might be a great brand to consider.
It would seem, from reading the reviews, that they can sometimes have a bit of an issue with things not working once they have been receive by the customer, but they also offer a 6 month warranty that covers most of their electronics… so, despite the fact that it is a bit of a pain to have to return things, they do take care of such problems quickly when they do arise.
All in all, we didn’t find a lot to complain about. Volcano E-cigs definitely offer a unique look and bring a little something different to the vaping scene. It is also impressive that their e-liquids are made in the US, which isn’t that common. If you are in the market for a new E-cig, then you should definitely consider giving Volcano a try.
